I was the victim of a random act of kindness today.

Mikey's mom, my friend Lori and I were at a local restaurant for lunch. When we went to leave, we were informed that the family at the table across from us (they had left a short time earlier) had paid the bills for all three of us.

The waitress said the man told her not to tell us anything till they'd gone, and that they said, "Merry Christmas."

That was more precious than any gift bought in a store; what a beautiful gesture!

Pass it on, folks... do something nice for someone you don't know. Be kind to those around you without any expectation of recognition or pay back. There is far too much hate, disrespect, and lack of compassion in this world. And I refuse to let it deaden me to the people I share this life with.

It will all come back to you. I had done this for someone in line at McDonalds about a month ago - paid for their meal. I told the girl at the window to tell them to just... pass it on.

And today, it was.

Wonderful!! As jaded as I am sometimes, it's good to see people actually showing kindness in a way that's material and real. :)

I'm not really a Christmas spirit kind of person, but that's really cool,
